Melyn-y-Gors B&B is accessed by a narrow road that follows the valley of the babbling river Tydu down to the sea. We are 100 yards from the National Trust cove of Cwmtydu. The beach is both sand and stone, with rocks and grassy hills rising to one side. At low tide the caves can be explored - they were once a secret haunt of pirates and smugglers.

Cwmtydu beach is dog friendly all year round; Melyn-y-Gors B&B welcomes well behaved dogs, with room 3 being our 'dog friendly' room. (Dogs CANNOT be booked into rooms 1 and 2)

Melyn-y-Gors B&B offers 3 good sized en suite rooms. The first one is situated on the ground floor (room 3), our 'dog friendly' room. It has a king size bed and a comfortable sofa, television (freeview channels), tea/coffee making facilities and WiFi. It has level access from outside, convienient for dogs and also useful for people with walking difficulties. The other 2 rooms are on the first floor and are both double rooms.Sorry but dogs are not allowed in these rooms, in order to cater for everybody's needs/wishes. Both can be family rooms: one has a double and a single bed, with room for a guest bed to sleep a family of 4. The other room has a king size bed and a single bed that can sleep a family of 3. Both rooms have a sofa with a television (freeview channels), tea/coffee making facilities and WiFi.

There is a local pub approximately 2 miles away called the Crown Inn, which serves food. Llangranog and New Quay (each approximately 4 miles away), have pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, several which accept dogs.

Village and town amenities are within easy driving distance, as are larger seaside resorts and visitor attractions.

Enjoyed our short trip enormously. Lovely room- only could not give a 5 due to size- but that is not a criticism- that is the layout of what after all was a cottage to begin with- it is the way it is. Lynne and Aled had done a fantastic job, beautiful room, lovely attention to detail (even down to a "Davies tartan" who would have thought.) Clean and welcoming. All the facilities that could be provided were. Lovely breakfast- even noticed the good quality cooking oil.
